David Brown is the defense editor at POLITICO. He got his start in military reporting while covering the Naval Academy at The Capital in Annapolis. He spent 16 years at the Military Times newspapers, where he was a senior writer and managing editor of Marine Corps Times, Navy Times and Defense News. Before coming to POLITICO, he was senior editor at the Washington Examiner, where he ran the defense team and helped launch the site’s morning newsletter.
