He joined POLITICO in 2017 after spending several years at Communications Daily, a trade publication devoted to telecom policy.

A native of St. Louis, John earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism from the University of Missouri before moving east. He has called Washington, D.C. home for more than a decade and is a resident of the city’s Park View neighborhood, where he enjoys the leafy proximity of the Old Soldiers’ Home and Rock Creek Park.
