Brent is a web producer for POLITICO. He is a former POLITICO and POLITICO Pro intern who covered breaking news and health care. He received his undergraduate degree from of the University of Iowa, where he worked all four years for the independent student newspaper, The Daily Iowan. He was a founding member of the paper's Ethics and Politics Initiative where he wrote about the 2016 presidential election, starting when White House hopefuls ventured to Iowa in 2014 through caucus night two years later.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Brent enjoys watching Husker football, camping and crafting terrible puns.
